I recently had to deal with an inspection report from Mark Welling, home inspector, and Ray Chin, a realtor with Coldwell Banker Island Properties. They did an inspection on our house that revealed $37k worth of fixes. The only problem was that few of the things listed were accurate. They reported that an induction stove did not work because they did not know that you have to put a metal pot on the stove to make it heat. They reported that AC left the house at 82 F when they just did not turn it on. They claimed that a shower leaked through the glass door by aiming the showerhead at the door and running it. I could go on and on. If you are trying to get some extra cash by fraudulently claiming things in the inspection that are not true, this is the outfit for you. If you get one of these reports from them, please scrutinize it carefully because 90% of the claims were untrue. The saddest part of this was that they seem to have been taking advantage of my parents, the former owners, because health problems prevented them from being there in person. It was very disappointing to see that someone on Maui would do such a thing. I sincerely hope that this was not the case and that they are merely incompetent.
